Yelena Chalaya

Yelena Chalaya, age 74, passed away on June 13, 2026. Born on July 4, 1951, in Donetsk, Ukraine, Yelena was the beloved daughter of the late Petr and Valentina Silchenko. In 1996, she immigrated to the United States, where she built a life centered on family, hard work, and perseverance.

Yelena dedicated her career to the field of mechanical engineering, a profession she enjoyed and excelled in until her retirement. She was an intelligent, determined woman who took great pride in her work. In her free time, she found joy in reading and treasured the quiet moments spent with her loved ones.

She was the beloved mother of Alex Chalyy; cherished grandmother of Alexis Chalyy; dear sister of Anna Silchenko-Wei; and treasured aunt of Alexander Wei.

Yelena will be remembered for her strength, kindness, dedication to her family, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
