William H. “Bill” Wolfcale, age 90, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Strongsville, Ohio. He was born on February 12, 1935, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Delbert and Stella Wolfcale.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Lorelei Wolfcale (née McKenna); his children, William A. Wolfcale, James D. Wolfcale, and Mary Lynn Estock; and his stepchildren, Lorie Hein and Russell Hein. He was a proud grandfather to Russell Speerbrecher, Jr., Braedon Speerbrecher, Christian Brenner, Aaron Wolfcale, Kelli Wolfcale, Ryan Evensen-Hein, Kyle Evensen-Hein, Luke Evensen-Hein and Nathan Hein, and a cherished great-grandfather to Angelica Brenner, Lazaro Brenner, Judah Brenner, Bo Brenner, Cameron Wolfcale, Valor Wolfcale, Natalie Shrum, and Blair Shrum. He is also survived by his niece, Carol Ann Long; nephew, Robert Wolfcale; and great-nephew, Scott Killian.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Debbie Speerbrecher; and four siblings.
He enjoyed a 30-year career with Ohio Bell and AT&T, where his dedication and work ethic were admired by all who knew him. A devoted fan of Ohio State football, Bill proudly referred to himself as “BuckeyeBill,” a nickname that suited his enthusiasm perfectly.
Bill was deeply committed to his faith, serving for many years as a member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, and later at Grace Church in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. He cherished time spent with family and friends and was always quick to share a story or a laugh. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching baseball and football and was an avid reader.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family on October 25, 2025, in Youngstown, Ohio.
Bill will be remembered for his warmth, humor, faith, and love of family, and a life well-lived and well-loved.
