William Skerkavich

April 12, 1960 — August 9, 2023

Cleveland, Ohio

William Skerkavich Sr. passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 63. Born on April 12, 1960, in his beloved hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Joseph Skerkavich and Kathryne, and was lovingly embraced as a stepson by Jan.

William's legacy is one of love and connection. As a devoted husband, he shared his life with Lisa for 33 years, and their bond was a testament to enduring love. As a father, he leaves behind a lasting impact, survived by his son, William Skerkavich Jr. (Maranda). His role as a grandfather held special significance, as he adored spending time with his grandchildren: William Skerkavich III, Orianna Flores, Zarya Flores, and Anastasia Skerkavich. He shared an especially deep bond with his grandson, William Skerkavich III, creating memories that will forever hold a special place in the family's heart.

William's presence extended beyond his immediate family, as he was a beloved brother to John (Theresa), Joseph (Christelle), Ron (Bonnie), Carol (Bill), Marlene (Gary), Diane, Annie, as well as a brother in law to Duane (Theresa), Dale (Jamie), Kenny, Gina, Jayne, and the late Angie, Kathy, and Kenny. William was a treasured uncle to a host of nieces & nephews, and a beloved son in law to James and the late Joyce Rieck. William was also a devoted friend to many. The strong connections he fostered within his family and friendships were a reflection of his caring and supportive nature.

In his leisure time, William found immense delight in attending his son's and grandchildren's baseball games, cheering them on from the stands with pride. The baseball field was a place where his passion for the game intertwined with the joy of family to create unforgettable memories.

The beach held a special place in his heart, where he created lasting moments while watching the sun's gentle embrace during both its rise and set. His adventurous spirit led him to the racetracks, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of placing bets with his brothers. He also found joy in shooting pool with his son and friends, showcasing his skill and sharing laughter. The golf course was another canvas for his passions, a place where he reveled in the company of loved ones.
