Viola Belle Gamble

Viola (Vicky) B. Gamble, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 6, 2026 surrounded by family at Cleveland Clinic.

She was born on August 8, 1948 to the late Bill and Vi Mindel along with Barb Wagner, Ernie Mindel, Betty Jackson and the late Bill Mindel.

Vicky was a preschool teacher's aide for several years at Country Lane Preschool. She was Proven Winner Certified at Vite Greenhouses for 20 years. Don and Vicky sold fresh produce at the South Bend Farmer's Market for 24 years.

Vicky was an avid baker and was known for her pies and cinnamon rolls. She loved to mentor young ladies on how to can and prepare meals. She had a wealth of knowledge in the kitchen. She loved God with her whole heart and she lived a life for Christ that everyone could see. She could start a conversation with a perfect stranger and be friends before the conversation was over. She was an amazing woman and now she is perfect and whole worshipping at the Throne of God!

Vicky met Don on a blind date in 1968. It was a whirlwind romance and they were married 3 months later on March 22, 1969. They have been deeply devoted to each other for the past 57 years.

He survives along with their children Bryan (Carrie) Gamble of New Carlisle and Mary (Matthew) Colglazier of Niles; and grandchildren Maddie and Josie Gamble, Dylan, Mason and AnnaBelle Colglazier as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at Summit Church 1700 W. River Road, Niles, MI 49120 with visitation an hour before.
