Victor M. Mendoza, age 54, passed away on June 1, 2025. He was born on June 11, 1970, in Maunabo, Puerto Rico, to his loving mother, Melanea Torres.
Dear brother of Edwin Rosa, Luis Mendoza, Alex Torres, Vivian Torres, and Raquel Torres. Treasured uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
Victor enjoyed playing the lottery, bowling, baseball, stadium hot dogs with a Pepsi on the side, and—most of all—his mom’s home cooking. A proud and loyal team member of the AMF Bowling League for many years, he competed in numerous tournaments, including the 100th American Bowling Congress Championship Tournament in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2003. He was also a devoted Cleveland Indians fan and attended many games with family.
Victor was a jokester whose sense of humor lit up the room. Whether with friends or strangers, he made people laugh with his random outbursts and quick wit. He had a gift for making others feel comfortable and welcomed. As a young man, he was always there for people—giving, supportive, caring, and generous. He especially loved being an uncle and took great pride in the joy and laughter he shared with his nieces and nephews.
It’s never easy to say goodbye to someone who has been a part of our lives. When that person is gone, there’s a void where they used to be. That’s what many of us are feeling today. Some of you knew Victor better than others, but you’re here because he had an impact in your life, and you want to honor that. Because he affected you in some way, it’s not going to be easy to say goodbye.
At such a difficult time, it’s important to remember the good memories we all have of Victor. By holding on to those memories, we can focus on the good times we had together and help each other find comfort.
It’s always hard to lose someone you know, to let go of them, and move on. But if we keep those memories in our hearts and minds, we can find peace, and Victor will always be with us. Just by being here, you’re showing that Victor touched your life—and that brings great comfort. That is how we’ll always remember Victor.
