Vanessa "Ness" Panas

Vanessa R. “Ness” Panas, Devoted Christian and Proselytizer , online journalist, and long time resident of Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2021 at the age of 45.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, John Panas; dear children, Michael and Jonathan Panas; her cherished grandson, Caleb Panas; parents, Renee and Keith Simmons;  brothers, Keith, Kevin and Krieg Simmons; and her niece, Desiree Inman.

Vanessa was born in Chicago, IL on February 10, 1976 to Renee and Keith.  She had motherly traits at a young age, taking care of her 3 younger brothers Keith, Kevin and Krieg.  She married John, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life June 4^th, 1994.  She gave birth to her two sons on September 21, 1993 and April 4, 1996, who were the most important part of her life.  On August 19, 2017, her grandson Caleb was born, who was her pride and joy. 

Vanessa was a caring, loving, selfless women who valued the time with her family above all.  She loved being a grandmother more than anything.  Not a day went by that she wasn’t enjoying being Meemee to her grandson.  When she wasn’t writing articles, studying or having political debates she was reading the Bible.  She always put others before herself and if you needed her for any reason she was there.  She took the difficulties of life away and shouldered them to all around her. She touched many lives with her love and faith.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors, 13115 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.  Interment in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
