Sergio Ruiz

Sergio Ruiz, age 75, passed away on April 27, 2026. He was born on September 15, 1950, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, the late Arcadio and Bernabella (nee Figueroa) Ruiz.

Sergio was the beloved husband of the late Nerida Ortiz-Ruiz. He was a devoted father to Madeline (Dale) Hill, Javier Ruiz, Sergio Ruiz, Jr., Gilberto Ruiz, Andres Ruiz (deceased), Gabriel Ruiz, and Luis (Robyn) Ruiz. He was a cherished grandfather to Darius Ruiz, Briana Ruiz, Yamira Hill, Tyrone Gabriel James Ruiz, Jr., Arianna Ruiz, Nadia James, Isaias James, and Serenity Ivory, and a proud great-grandfather to Zariah Ruiz, Cartier Ruiz, Kairo Megha, Ka’Mari Ruiz, and Micah Ruiz. Sergio was also a dear brother of 16 and a treasured uncle to a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Sergio found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He loved cooking and was known for always making sure everyone was well fed. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching wrestling, dancing, and listening to merengue music. Sergio will be remembered for his welcoming spirit, strong work ethic, generosity, and his heart of gold. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
