Santiago "Chago" Flores

Santiago “Chago” Flores, age 79, passed away on September 29, 2026. He was born on July 25, 1947, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, the late Antonia Serrano and Leocadio Flores.

Chago was the beloved husband of Evelyn Maritza Soto and devoted father of Euclides “Ricky” Santiago and Marielee Santiago-Rodriguez. He was the cherished grandfather of Yamila, Benicio, Miguel, and Kevin. Dear brother of Pascuala “Chin” Flores, Pedro “Tule” Flores, Irene “Morel” Flores (Deceased), Patricia Flores (Deceased), Ida Flores (Deceased), Herminia Cordova (Deceased), Canda Cordova (Deceased), and Paula Cordova. Treasured uncle of Juan Loiz, Jose “Guiro” Loiz, Mima Valentine, Diana Ramos, and many other nieces and nephews.

Chago enjoyed peleas de gallos, watching baseball—especially cheering on the Cleveland Guardians—listening to 70s salsa and merengue, attending pig roasts, and enjoying a shot of Pitorro. He will be remembered for his love of family, his vibrant personality, and the many memories he created with those who loved him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.
