Captain Ryan W. Brown

Captain Ryan W Brown, 63, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on December 24, 2023, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on August 10, 1960, to the late Robert Walter and Lorna Beth (née Marshall) Brown.

Ryan was a long-time resident of Manteo, North Carolina, where he served as a master automotive and marine electronics technician. His regular offshore pilgrimages were a testament to his love for the sea and adventurous spirit and created cherished memories for himself and those fortunate enough to share in the experience. After moving back to Geneva, Ryan obtained his master captain's license and ran a charter boat on Lake Erie.

Known for his passion and knowledge in aviation, maritime, and automotive realms, Ryan was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer guidance to anyone in need. His generosity and eagerness to help defined not only his professional life, but also the countless personal connections he built throughout the years.

Captain Ryan is survived by his loving sons, Spencer (Daphne) Brown, Tristan Colby, and Evan Cutler; partner of twenty-five years, Susan Frederick; sister, Diane Haines; and lifelong best friend, Nancy Leaverton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Deborha Ann Brown, and childhood best friend Robin Lopez.

A celebration of Ryan's life will be held at a later date.
