Roberta McGrath, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, in Solon, Ohio. Born on February 17, 1943, in Lynn, MA, Roberta has a life filled with love and dedication to her family and friends.
Roberta was the cherished wife of John Anthony McGrath. Together, they built a strong and supportive union that served as the foundation of their family. Roberta was a devoted mother to her three children: David, Donna McGrath-Nedrow, and Debbie Guyeska, all of whom were not only touched by her nurturing spirit but also inspired by her unwavering strength and kindness.
As a grandmother, Roberta's love only multiplied, encompassing her many grandchildren, including Allysa Marriner (Joel), Gabrielle Babiarz (Adam), Sean Kegg (Kylee), Shannon Kegg, David A.J. Nedrow, Lee McGrath, Sarah Kegg, Julia McGrath, and Michael and Cheyenne Guyeska. Each one of them held a special place in her heart, and her joy was evident when she spent time with them, creating cherished memories and sharing invaluable life lessons. Her great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jillian Kegg, brought additional joy to her life, as she embraced her role with delight.
Roberta was the daughter of Clarence Coates and Alberta (nee Ellison) Alley, and her familial bonds extended beyond her immediate family. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who remember her fondly and admired her for the love and guidance she provided.
Roberta was predeceased by her siblings: Sylvia Parker, Millie Armao, Paul Alley, Dorothy Cameron, Brian Alley, Karen Alley, and Brenda Alley. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them, as they were an integral part of Roberta’s life story.
In addition to her beloved family, she leaves behind her sweet fat cat, Daisy, in the care of her daughter, Debbie.
Through her kindness, compassion, and resilience, Roberta made an indelible mark on the lives of those around her. She will be profoundly missed yet forever celebrated in the loving memories of her family and friends.
Roberta graduated from Lynn English High School, and was a member of the Lyndhurst Community of Faith Church, where she participated in many ministries in the church, including the prayer group and worship ministry. Roberta had a great love for crafts and enjoyed sewing outfits for her children when they were young, as well as teaching her granddaughters how to knit and crochet. In her adult years, she could be found doing wood crafting with her husband. Her creativity and talent were evident in everything she made. Her friendly nature, love for laughter, and enjoyment of celebrations and holidays were hallmarks of her personality. She was a person who made every gathering brighter and every moment more joyful.
Celebration of Life to be held on February 19, 2026, at Lyndhurst Community of Faith Church, 5312 Mayfield Rd, Cleveland, OH 44124, at 5:00 pm.
A dignified cremation has been entrusted to Slone & Company.
