Richard E. Vasich, Sr.

Richard E. Vasich, Sr., age 88, passed away on October 6, 2025. He was born in Avon Lake, Ohio, to his loving parents, the late Mile and Eva Vasich. Beloved husband of the late Verna Mae. Devoted father of Richard Vasich, Jr., Machaele Hrdlicka (Craig Kidder), and Charles Vasich (Denise). Cherished grandfather of Chrystal Smith (Jeremiah), Shannon Baker (Dan), Johnathan Hrdlicka, Kathryn Nguyen (Alex), and Megan Wright (Ezio); and proud great-grandfather of nine. Dear brother of Judy Shrift (Scott), and the late Russell, Steve, and Dorothy. Treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Richard enjoyed woodworking, golfing, fishing, playing the lottery, and cheering on his favorite teams—the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Known to many as “Uncle Dick,” he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 12:15 p.m., at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273 (please meet at cemetery by 12 p.m.).
