Rafael Fredys Sosa Sosa

Today we remember Rafael Fredys Sosa Sosa "Fredy", born on April 16, 1935, in Los Jibaros in the Dominican Republic. He is the son of José Dolores and Rafaela Sosa. The brother of Siria Sosa, Persio Juan Sosa, Guarionex Sosa (deceased), Agustín Castillo, and Nereida Castillo.

With his life partner Ramona Correa, he had 8 sons and daughters. Beloved Father of, Nelly Larancuent (Luis), Reyna Núñez (Frank), Berkys Sosa Pichardo (José Ramon), Jorge Sosa, Fatima Sosa Bonilla (José), Cristian Sosa (Anatalia), Edward Abukarma and Eric Sosa. Dear grandfather of Iván, Josbel, Héctor, Sara, Inali, Gabriel, José Andrés, George, Katherine, Axel, Hilary, Elian, Sebastián, Jeremy, Stacey, Will, Alison, Luis, and Sofia. Dear great-grandfather of Matteo, Lucas, Levi, Isis, and Abigail. Uncle, cousin, and nephew of many.

He was known as a professional photographer, in a time when very few people owned a camera. Today thousands of black and white photos remain as his legacy, with "FOTO SOSA " stamped on the back.

He loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching Tres Patines and the tremendous court, Cantinflas movies and listening to romantic music, which he hummed during the day. He had a good humor especially in difficult moments.  The "Saber y Ganar" TV show has lost one of its most loyal viewers

A few of his common phrases such as "the night is young", "I'm not leaving they’re taking me" and "that would be a great thing" will remind us of the jocularity that he used to expressed his feelings.

Con su compañera de vida Ramona Correa tuvo 8 hijos e hijas. Amado Padre de, Nelly Larancuent (Luis), Reyna Núñez (Frank), Berkys Sosa Pichardo (José Ramon) Jorge Sosa, Fatima Sosa Bonilla (José), Cristian Sosa (Anatalia), Edward Abukarma y Eric Sosa. Querido abuelo de Iván, Josbel, Héctor, Sara, Inali, Gabriel, José Andrés, George, Katherine, Axel, Hilary, Elian, Sebastián, Jeremy, Stacey, Will, Alison, Luis y Sofia. Querido bisabuelo de Matteo, Lucas, Levi, Isis y Abigail. Tío, primo y sobrino de muchos.

Se destacó como fotógrafo profesional, en los tiempos en que muy pocas personas poseían una cámara fotográfica. Hoy quedan como testigos miles de fotos en blanco y negro que tienen el sello de  " FOTO SOSA" en el reverso.

Amante de la lectura, los crucigramas, Tres Patines y la tremenda corte, películas de cantinflas y escuchar música romántica, que tarareaba durante el día. Tenía buen humor especialmente en los momentos difíciles.

El Programa "Saber y Ganar" ha perdido uno de sus más fieles espectadores

Frases como “la noche es joven”, “no me voy me llevan” y “eso sería una gran cosa” nos recordaran la jocosidad con que se expresaba su sentir.
