A loving father to his sons Julius, Carnel, and Dante, Phillip dedicated himself to nurturing them with unwavering support and affection. He embodied honesty and was a genuine listener, always ready to lend an ear or a shoulder to lean on. His love for his family was profound, and he approached every relationship with a warmth and depth that was uniquely his own. Phillip's role as a father defined much of his life, and his sons will carry forward the values and lessons he instilled in them.

Throughout his life, Phillip was known for his resilient spirit and his determination to live life on his own terms. He was unfazed by challenges and remained committed to doing things his way, embodying a rare blend of strength and sensitivity. His passion for life extended beyond fatherhood; he found joy in hobbies such as fishing, camping, and gaming. Whether he was catching a big one on the lake or enjoying spirited parties with friends, Phillip embraced each moment with enthusiasm.

He leaves behind his fiancée, Kara Tokay, who was his partner and confidante. Phillip was also cherished by his siblings: Vernita Pen, Tammy Leon, Edward Barkley, Joanne and Anthony Simmons, as well as many dear friends including Marcus Mikalowski, James Stallworth, and James T. and Lucy Shirley-Gardner.

In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind a close-knit circle of family and friends and many nieces and nephews, including Leana and Sophya Hamley, Desmus-Muridians Barkley, Jensen Barkley, and Lydia Shirley-Gardner who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and boundless love.

Phillip Quinton Barkley was more than just a man; he was a beacon of light and love in a world all too often shadowed by darkness. A saved man, his faith was very important to him.
