Odelin Rodriguez Algarin

Odelin Rodriguez Algarin, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025. He was born on June 22, 1932, in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, the late Vicente Rodriguez Roman and Rosa Maria Rodriguez Algarin.

A man of quiet resilience and deep love, Odelin dedicated his life to his family, always placing their needs above his own. A self-taught bookkeeper with a brilliant mind for math and a passion for typing on his treasured IBM Electric typewriter, he took pride in every skill he mastered.

In his youth, Odelin was a talented swimmer and an avid baseball player—quiet in demeanor, but full of spirit and strength. In 1958, while living in Brooklyn, New York, few knew the depth of the athlete behind the gentle smile.

He had a lifelong love for photography and videography, faithfully documenting family gatherings with care. His collection of home videos remains a priceless treasure for all who loved him.

Beloved husband of the late Maria M. Rodriguez Algarin. Devoted father of Alberto Rodriguez (Colleen), Ivonne Bates, and Roberto Rodriguez (Kaumaca). Cherished grandfather of Cassandra Bates (Owen Lawler), Stephanie Bates, Samuel Rodriguez (Victoria), Daniel Rodriguez, Julia Rodriguez, and ten great-grandchildren. Dear brother of eleven and a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Odelin leaves behind a legacy of love, quiet strength, and deep family devotion—forever remembered in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111, where a funerals service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
