Miloslava "Mila" Hyvnar

MILOSLAVA HYVNAR "MILA", age 86, of University Hts. Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2014. She was the beloved wife of 52 years to the late Vaclav Hyvnar. Loving mother of her daughter, Ludmila, and son, John. She was the sister of Stepanka Svobodova, living in the Czech Republic. She is also survived by other family members in the USA and Czech Republic. Mila was very active in the Czech community. She served as the editor of the Czech daily, Novy Svet, for over 12 years and was also the President of the Czech Committee of Greater Cleveland. As a political refuge from communism, she devoted her life to bring freedom to her native country and to the rest of the Eastern Europe from the yoke of communism. A funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 3395 East 53 Street, Cleveland, Ohio, will be held on 11 A.M. Saturday. The burial will be in the Czech Republic. Memorial donations may be made either to Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church or Sokol Greater Cleveland, 4939 Broadway Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44127.
