Michael Anthony Matranga

Michael Anthony Matranga, age 68, passed away on January 15, 2026. He was born on June 10, 1957, in East Cleveland, Ohio, to his loving parents, the late Albert Matranga, Jr., and Martha Kozel.

Michael was the beloved father of James Thomas “JT” Matranga (deceased) and Samuel A. Matranga, and the loving fiancé of Lori Tilker. He was a dear brother to Martha (Ron) Matranga Anderson, Steve Matranga (Laura Krinsky), Lorraine (Bob) Gedde, and Bobbie (Michael) Paulson. He was a treasured uncle to Nathaniel (Katie) Anderson, Sean C. Ryan, Ronan Ryan, Laura Krinsky, Natalie Kabage, Geoffrey Gedde, Debra Gundaker, JoAnn Santamorena, and Collen Ponyik.

Michael enjoyed “learning” how to be a doctor by watching the series House, listening to music, exploring ideas about the future of science, and sharing humor with those around him. He will be remembered for his curiosity, wit, and the love he held for his family.

A Mass Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 12 p.m., at St. Mary Church 340 Union St, Bedford, OH 44146. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Slone & Co. Funeral Directors.
