Mary Ruth Brennan

Mary Ruth Brennan, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025. She was born on October 2, 1942, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to her loving parents, the late William and Janet (née Besco) Hill.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late John Brennan and the devoted mother of Dan Brennan, Erin Heider, and Susan Brennan. She was the cherished grandmother of Ingrid, Cameron, Geoffrey, and Greta Heider; dear sister of the late William Hill, Jr.; and treasured aunt to many nieces. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Patricia Brennan Clipp.

A dedicated nurse, Mary spent the majority of her career with Associates in Dermatology, where she compassionately cared for her patients until retirement. She found great joy in tending to her garden, exploring new places through travel, and filling her home with the warmth of freshly baked goods. Mary especially loved spending quiet afternoons reading on her back porch, and never passed up the fun of a good shopping trip. She cherished her outings to Playhouse Square with her dear girlfriends and always looked forward to their memorable road trips to Chautauqua and Amish Country—moments filled with laughter, friendship, and adventure. Mary also had a deep love for the beach, sunny days, and warm weather, and she delighted in enjoying a simple treat of vanilla custard on a hot summer afternoon.

Family and friends are welcome for an informal remembrance on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m., at The Clifton Club 17884 Lake Rd, Lakewood, OH 44107.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve in Mary’s name.
