Luz Cruz

Luz C. Cruz, age 67, passed away on June 24, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born on July 12, 1958, in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, to Juan Cruz and Zoraida Diaz.

Luz was the beloved wife of Luis Torres. She was a devoted mother to Freddie Montanez, Jr. and Alan Torres (Lorena), and a cherished grandmother to Samera, Armando, and Eliseo. She was a loving sister of Lillian (Edward) Gonzalez, Juan, Jr., (Gabby) and the late Luis. Luz was also a loving aunt and great aunt of many.

Luz dedicated 30 years of service as a teacher with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, touching the lives of many students throughout her career. She enjoyed crafts, traveling, spending time with her family, and being active in her church. Her faith, kindness, and love for others were evident in the way she lived her life.

Luz will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her dedication to teaching, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, service, and family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4-8 PM at Slone & Co. Life Celebration Center, 3556 West 130th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44111, where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the Funeral Services at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio.
