Louise Marie Forney

Louise Marie (nee Durka) Forney, age 52, passed away on April 2, 2025. She was born on March 5, 1973, in Buffalo, NY, to her loving parents, the late Joan (nee Barren) Durka and Edwin Durka (Nancy).

Beloved wife of Derek Forney for 24 years. Devoted mother of Lucas, Madeline, and Benjamin Forney. Cherished sister of Renee (Tom) Ovitt and Janice Durka. Dear daughter-in-law of Frank (Sharon) Forney and sister-in-law of Sean (Ann) Forney. Treasured aunt of Brianna Ovitt, Matthew and Daniel Forney, and Matt, Kacie, and Brooklyn Latona. She will be deeply missed by her beloved dog, Ella, as well as by numerous close friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Louise was a dedicated and compassionate nurse throughout her career. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, and making people laugh. She will be sorely missed by everyone who was blessed to know her. Louise was a fortunate and grateful double lung transplant recipient. In her honor, please consider giving the gift of life through organ donation.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Slone & Co. Funeral Directors. A Memorial service for friends and family will be held in Buffalo, NY at a later date.
