Karen Ann Kelly, of Rocky River, Ohio, died peacefully on July 18, 2026, at the age of 75. She will be remembered for the love she shared, the kindness she offered, and the lasting impression she made on all who knew her.
Karen’s life was marked by devotion to her family, friends, and community. She always put others before herself, spoke warmly with everyone she met, and had a generous heart. Though she lived simply and often had little, she never stopped thinking of others first. She brought warmth, grace, and quiet strength to the people around her, and her memory will continue to be cherished by those whose lives she touched.
Karen built a meaningful career in nursing, serving as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Manager at the Phelps Memorial Hospital in Tarrytown, New York. Through her work, she dedicated herself to caring for others with compassion, professionalism, and strength.
Karen was the daughter of Owen A. Kelly Jr. and Margaret (nee Gill) Kelly. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Painter and his wife, Romana Painter, and Kevin Gilligan; her grandchildren, Shane Painter, Kelvin and Alexa Ramirez, all of Danvers, Massachusetts, and Brynnlee of New York; her brother, Brendan Kelly and his wife, Beth Kelly; her sister, Mary Pat Partridge and her husband, Patrick Partridge; and her sister, Sheila Jameson and her husband, Gary Jameson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Maurita, and her brother, Owen A. Kelly III.
A mass honoring Karen's life will be held at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, 10205 Lorain Avenue (at W. Blvd), Cleveland, Ohio 44111, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life and dedication to serving others.
