Kamielya Alene Wykoff-Prosser

March 13, 1992 — March 10, 2024

Cleveland, Ohio

Kamielya Alene Prosser (nee Wykoff), age 31, from Mt. Gilead and (residing in) Cleveland, Ohio was beamed up out of this world on March 10, 2024. She was a woman who lived life with passion, humor, adventure and courage.

"I broke away the chains from painfully severe medical complications associated with a massive and paralyzing ischemic stroke-I spread my wings and learned how to fly out of the darkness and into God's light."

Kamielya was born on March 13, 1992, in the beautiful City of Columbus, Ohio to her beloved mother, Kimberly A. Wykoff, and Brian D. Niebrugge.

Kamielya is a very cherished and loved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, mother and friend of many.

Kamielya was a rare and remarkable individual who embodied authenticity in all aspects of her life. Whether it was offering feedback or sharing her emotions, she always spoke from the heart, without pretense or artifice. Her ability to connect with others on a deep level was a testament to her sincerity and unwavering commitment to openness.

Kamielya was a creative soul who loved writing poetry, listening to music, and singing with her angelic voice. She had a unique talent for expressing herself through her words, and her music choices were often reflective of her emotional state. She also had a passion for cooking and was enrolled in a program at Edwin's Restaurant/Culinary School in Cleveland to become a Chef and restaurant manager. Her love for cooking was evident from a young age. Kamielya had a natural talent for cooking, and her creativity in the kitchen was admired by many!

She was a person who enjoyed putting on makeup and styling her hair, which she did with great skill. Despite the challenges she faced during her recovery, she maintained a positive attitude and a great sense of humor. During her physical therapy sessions, she would often sing a playful little tune, "chicken wing, chicken wing, hot dog and baloney." while working to regain movement in her paralyzed arm. Her determination and lighthearted were an inspiration to all who knew her!

Regardless of any obstacles that life threw her way, Kamielya always had a smile on her face and the ability to make others laugh even on their worst days. Her family and friends loved her for her infectious positivity and her adventurous spirit.

Though her passing is a great loss, Kamielya's legacy of laughter, tears, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Kamielya is survived by her mother, Kimberly A. Wykoff; her amazing and beautiful daughters, Alexis and Karmyn; Sisters, Miranda S. Waters (nee Wykoff) and her husband, Adam, and Selina Day and her fiance, Andrew; Grandmother, Deborah A. Reyneke (nee Slone); Great-Grandfather, Clifford Slone; 3 nieces and 5 nephews, many aunts, uncles, as well as numerous other relatives. Preceded into heaven by her Grandfather, Richard A. Wykoff, Sr., and Great-Grandmother, Joyce A. Slone (nee Tackett), and many other beloved ancestors.

As Kamielya would say herself, "Though it is not easy to say goodbye, just know that it's not the end, I'm saying hello to a new adventure until we all meet again-I will never forget all the ones that I love. When it's time to leave, it's not the years in your life that count, rather, it's the life in your years that matter!" And wow!-she lived those years courageously!

During these difficult times, let us remember that arrangements for our loved one is being entrusted to the compassionate hands of Slone & Co. Funeral Directors.

Although we may not be able to celebrate her life in person yet, let us gather together during a beautiful Celebration of Life event that will be held at a later date.
