Judith Marie Thomas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Marie Thomas, 81, on June 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer and kidney failure. She retained her spirit and sense of humor until the very end.

Judith was a lifelong volunteer and community supporter. From the Fine Arts Festival in Minnesota to Relay for Life in Florida, to flu clinics and board support at Warren General Hospital in Pennsylvania, she gave her time generously wherever she lived. She especially loved hosting luncheons and cooking for loved ones.

A passionate learner, Judith pursued multiple careers throughout her life. She began as a teacher, transitioned to office work, earned her law degree, and later focused on tax preparation. In her retirement, she volunteered her skills preparing taxes for veterans.

Judith also loved playing games (usually winning) with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Litherland; her husband, Egil Twedt; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Dorothy Litherland; her brother-in-law, Paul Keverline; and her grandson, Corey Casper.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Keverline; her brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Rhonda Litherland; her children, David (Dawn) Lerch, Steven (Janet) Lerch, and Laura (Troy) Casper; her grandchildren, Andrew, Sean, Matthew (Arianna), Erin, and Christian Lerch, Caitlyn (Mason) Mrosewske, Justin Casper; and her great-granddaughter, Riley Lerch.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family in October.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judith’s memory to a charity of your choice. She had a special place in her heart for veterans and medical nonprofit organizations.
