Jose "Chito" Vazquez

Jose “Chito” Vazquez, age 79, passed away on September 18, 2026. He was born on May 14, 1947, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, the late Juan Vazquez and Maria A. Rodriguez.

Jose "Chito" was the beloved husband of Bernardina (nee Laureano) Vazquez and devoted father of Rita (Daniel “Tito”) Nieves and Danny (Walkiria Figueroa) Vazquez. He was the cherished grandfather of Tyler Nieves and Marisa Nieves, and proud great-grandfather of Sonora Nieves. Dear brother of 15 siblings, Chito was also a treasured uncle and great-uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.

Jose "Chito" enjoyed many things throughout his life, including baseball, bowling, automotive restoration, playing poker, and working on home improvement projects. He will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Life Celebration Center 3556 W. 130th St. Cleveland, OH 44111. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Church 13400 Lorain Ave, Cleveland, OH 44111 (please meet at church). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
