John Anthony Macejko, 79, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away on January 8, 2024. He was born on January 12, 1944, to the late John and Josephine (nee DePaul) Macejko.
A proud US Army Veteran, John served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His dedication to service was a testament to his character and bravery. Beyond his military service, John was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the sweetness of life.
John had a passion for the simple delights, cherishing moments with a scoop of his favorite ice cream, the hum of classic cars, and the timeless melodies of music that touched his soul. His generous spirit was evident in his unwavering willingness to help others, a quality that endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie E. Macejko; children Tina (nee Macejko) Hastie, Tony Macejko, John J. Macejko, Pamela (nee Macejko) Cirner, Elizabeth Macejko, Angela Macejko, Cristina Macejko, Laurie Christopher, David Hastie, bonus sons Justin Plants and Jim Gross.
John's legacy of love extends to his cherished grandchildren: Amanda, Jeremy, Ashley, Julian, Valerie, Natasha, Jacob, Jason, Logan, Christina, Danielle, Eric, Zane, Lucy, and Ruby.
In addition to his immediate family, John is survived by his sister Marlene (nee Macejko) Kroeger and niece Angela (nee Kroeger) Harvey, both of whom he held dear to his heart.
A graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 1:45 p.m., at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, OH 44273. (Please meet at cemetery by 1:30 p.m.)
