John Borowski

John Borowski, affectionately known as “Rusty Nail,” passed away on August 5, 2026, in Brooklyn, Ohio, at the age of 42. Born on July 27, 1984, in Cleveland, Ohio, John was a vibrant presence whose life was marked by boundless passion and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

John’s culinary expertise defined much of his professional journey; he worked as a cook, delighting friends, family, and many patrons with hearty fare and delicious flavors. In every kitchen John brought energy, humor, and an unmistakable spark that made meals memorable.

Known for his wide-ranging interests, John embraced life fully. He had a deep love for music, finding joy and inspiration in the tracks of Tech Nine, ICP, Incubus, Deftones, and Ozzy Osborne. His enthusiasm for the Juggalo community and the music of ICP spoke to his loyalty and sense of camaraderie with fellow fans. Attending concerts was one of his favorite ways to connect—with music, and with people he cared about.

John was a dedicated fan of Pokemon Go; his passion for the game was infectious, and his favorite pokemon, Charzard, was a symbol of his fiery spirit. In his leisure, he could often be found playing his PS5 or sharing laughs with those closest to him. Cooking, both as a career and a hobby, remained at the heart of John’s life.

John’s enduring legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, especially his beloved mother, Theresa Borowski; his cherished daughter, Aeris; and his devoted sister, Jamie Teets (husband Chris). He is also survived by his girlfriend Kassie Couch and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Through them, his memory and joyful spirit will be lovingly carried forward.

John will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his warmth, humor, and genuine zest for life.
