JoAnn Ruth Cowell, age 73, passed away on September 24, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Cowell. Devoted mother of David Tycast (Eva), Dana Deak (Jon), and stepmother of Gina Laughlin (Lucky), Dawn Vandevender, Gary Cowell, Jason Cowell (Kim), and the late Brenda Cowell. Cherished grandmother of 15, great grandmother of 8, and great-great grandmother of 4. Loving daughter of the late Charles Hart and the late Ruth Hart. Dear sister of Marge Lees (John). JoAnn worked for many years at Stewart Lodge in Madison. She was huge lover of animals, always having dogs and cats to care for. JoAnn also loved chocolate, and in her free time enjoyed painting ceramics and collecting knick-knacks that she kept displayed throughout her home.
