Jennifer Katherine Bailey, born Jones on January 9, 1947, in Orange, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Adelaide Jones. She passed away peacefully at her residence in Shaker Garden’s nursing facility in Shaker Heights, Ohio, on December 24, 2025.
Jennifer married Otis Bailey Jr. after high school. She was a mother to her late daughter Sheria Bailey (Jordan), whose loss weighed heavily on her heart. Jennifer took immense pride and joy in her role as a mother to Otis Bailey III (OJ) and Simone and to her beloved grandchildren: Terrell (Ky’erra), Brittany, Lamar Jr., Shemar, Serenity, and Aubree. She was also a doting great-grandmother to Knox, Kyaire , and Taylei who brought her immense happiness.
In addition to her immediate family, Jennifer is survived by her beloved sister, Alvenia Jones-Montgomery (Charles). Sister in laws Pat Jones and Rosan Jones. She is preceded in death by her siblings Robert (Kippy), Leroy Sr., Adelaide Jo Ann Cook, and William (Buster).
Jennifer had a vibrant personality and an eclectic array of interests that brought color and excitement to her everyday life. She had a keen passion for politics, often engaging in discussions about current events, always ready to share her insights about candidates and politicians while staying updated by watching CNN. A frequent visitor to casinos, Jennifer found joy in the thrill of the games and the camaraderie they provided.
A sweet tooth defined a hint of her character, with Jolly Ranchers being her favorite treat, a testament to her youthful spirit even in her later years.
She will be remembered not just for her interests and hobbies, but for her unwavering commitment to her grandchildren and the joy she brought to their lives. As we bid farewell to Jennifer Bailey, her spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts and memories of those she loved and who loved her in return. Her memory will forever be cherished by her loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
