Janet E. Velez

Janet E. Velez, age 68, passed away on February 2, 2026. She was born on August 28, 1957, in West Virginia, to her loving parents, the late Robert Pingley and Freda (nee Strawder) Lowe. Janet was the beloved wife of Ernesto Velez; devoted mother of Tina (nee Pingley) Hartman, Scott Boergert, and the late Patrick Boergert; and cherished grandmother of Katerina Butcher, Jose Cuevas, III, Sage Boergert, Jada Boergert, Jack Miller, Alyssa Miller, Brett Rogers, Darius Williams, Steven Weber, Jacob Boergert, Andrew Boergert, Katie Boergert, and Taylor Elliot, as well as a proud great-grandmother of nine. She was a dear sister of Susie Serrano (deceased), Tina Vasquez, Ed Semrau, Michelle Semrau, and Michael Semrau. Janet was also a treasured aunt of Ashley Forgach, Edwin Semrau, Sarah Semrau, Zach Semrau, Samantha Semrau, Charlie Pacheco, Bert Pacheco, Benny Vasquez, and Alicia Vasquez.

Janet enjoyed taking long drives, painting, playing video games, reading books, watching horror movies, visiting cemeteries, and most of all, spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
