James Edward Pinkston, formally of Bulls Gap, Tennessee, sadly passed away on June 22, 2022, at his home in Akron, Ohio. He was surrounded by his beloved daughters, his companion Bonnie and his little dog Chloe. Devoted father of Ronda Pinkston, of Greeneville, Tennessee, Jaime (James) Gonzalez, of Malvern, Ohio, Amanda (Shannon) Woods, and step-son, Cory Klun. James had many friends, including lifelong friend and business partner, Debbie Klun. Jim’s passion was spending time with his barn buddies and best friend, Rudy Klun, and his horse Jazmine. He enjoyed Nascar, Harley Davidson, and listening to good ole’ country music, but his true love in life was his family and friends. He is survived by companion Bonnie Passarelli, his grandchildren Cheryl & Anthony Martin, Jimmy & Destiny Quirarte of Cleveland, Ohio, Patrick Jeremy Hinkle, Daniel Rhea and Heather Nicole Pinkston of Greeneville, Tennessee, Zachary & Jacob Woods of Cleveland, Ohio, Cynthia (Tyler) Bentz and Joshua Gonzalez of Malvern, Ohio. Jim was also a great grandfather to many. Proceeded in death by son Duane Edward Pinkston of Cleveland, Ohio, mother Martha P. Bowman (Elijah), father R.J. Pinkston, and grandmother Mary E. Jones of Bulls Gap, Tennessee. Family and friends are welcome Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111.
In honor of Jim, the family asks that those attending wear either patriotic (Red, White, Blue, or something with Eagles) or Harley Davidson attire. Come as you are. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Sundown Boarding Stables scholarship fund, in memory of James E. Pinkston, in care of Debby Klun 14850 Greystone Dr., Brookpark, OH 44142.
