James A. Beesley, born April 10, 1945, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 29, 2026.
Beloved husband of Sylvia Beesley for 47 years. Loving father of Theanna Beesley Deaton, James Beesley, and Kayla Beesley (Michelle Manzeo). Dearest grandfather of Cameron Beesley. Son of the late Arthur C. and Romana E. Beesley. Brother of Edward C. Beesley (deceased) (Joan), Larry J. Beesley (deceased) (Jani, deceased), Ann Beesley Potucek, Lynn Beesley Pickard (Jerry, deceased), Kathy Beesley Vande Velde (Thomas), Michael Beesley (Joyce), Beth Beesley Frisce (Larry), and Joanne Beesley Welsh (deceased) (Charles, deceased). Loving uncle and great-uncle.
James was a man defined by strength, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was dependable in every sense of the word, someone who showed up for the people he loved without hesitation. He was a source of guidance and support. He carried himself with a quiet wisdom.
A proud veteran, James entered the United States Navy in 1966. During his distinguished military career, he served as a Sonarman aboard the USS Jallao and USS Tigrone, where he demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, and commitment. Following his active duty, James continued his service as a Naval Reservist, reflecting a lifelong dedication to his country.
Beyond his military accomplishments, James devoted himself to helping others through his work with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. His involvement showcased just how important community and helping others meant to him.
James also valued education and lifelong learning. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Baldwin Wallace University, an accomplishment he took great pride in and one that reflected his intelligence, curiosity, and strong work ethic.
James also embraced life. He loved motorcycle riding and took pride in cross-country journeys that spoke to his adventurous spirit and love of freedom. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and scuba diving, and flying single jet airplanes.
Above all else, James will be remembered as a loyal husband, devoted father and grandfather, trusted brother and friend. His wisdom, and character will leave a legacy that will continue to live on through the people he touched.
Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Slone & Co Life Celebration Center, located at 3556 W 130th St, Cleveland, OH 44111. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10 a.m., at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church 14040 Puritas Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44135. Interment Lakeview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Tony House at Blessed Trinity in the memory of James to St. Vincent De Paul Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
James A. Beesley will be remembered not only for his service and hobbies but for the warmth and generosity he brought to all his endeavors. His enduring spirit and the impact he made on his community and loved ones remain a testament to a life dedicated to both duty and joy.
