He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a life well-lived. Born to Charles and Lulu Wilson in Cleveland, Ohio on November 24, 1934, Gerald touched the lives of many through his kindness and unwavering spirit.

Gerald was a loving husband to his beloved wife, Sandra Wilson, with whom he shared a bond that stood the test of time. Their enduring love was a source of inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they built a life full of joy, compassion, and shared experiences that will be cherished forever.

As a father, Gerald was a guiding light to his two daughters, Dawn (Greg Dickey) and Diana (Kamal Benford) Wilson. He provided unwavering support, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and embrace life's challenges. His love and devotion were unmatched, and he instilled in them the values of resilience, compassion, and hard work.

Gerald was a proud grandfather to Tori Wilson, Raegan Holtz (Ian), Ryan Golob, and great grandfather to Skylar Wilson, who brought immeasurable joy into his life. He cherished their special bond and took great pride in watching them grow into remarkable individuals. His love and guidance will forever be engraved in their heart.

In addition to his immediate family, Gerald was a beloved brother to Gene Wilson. He was a source of strength and a constant presence in his life, offering guidance and support when needed. Gerald's warm heart and generous spirit extended to his nieces and nephews, Valerie, Trisha, Carol, Donna, Michael, Linda, and Gene, who all looked up to him as a role model and confidante.

Gerald served his country with honor as a U.S. Army Veteran, demonstrating bravery and dedication throughout his military career. His selflessness and commitment to protecting the freedoms we hold dear will never be forgotten.

Outside of his military service, Gerald found great joy in being part of the Farm Bureau. He cherished his time working alongside fellow members, tending to the land, and promoting sustainable farming practices. His passion for agriculture and his dedication to the farming community made a lasting impact on those around him.

Sports held a special place in Gerald's heart, and he was an avid fan who appreciated the camaraderie and excitement they brought. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or engaging in friendly debates with fellow enthusiasts, he relished every moment spent discussing and watching sports.

Among his many interests, Gerald found solace in the companionship of his loyal canine companion, Piper. Their bond was unbreakable, and Piper brought immeasurable joy to Gerald's life.

Gerald was a man of many talents and hobbies. He found solace in working on cars, his skilled hands transforming them into masterpieces. He also enjoyed playing cards, engaging in friendly competition and sharing laughter with loved ones. However, above all else, he treasured the time spent with his family. Whether gathered around the dinner table or embarking on memorable adventures, Gerald cherished these moments and valued the love and laughter they shared.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, June 23, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park 6265 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted, OH 44070. (Please meet at gates by 10:45 a.m.)
