Gabriella Dako

Gabriella “Gabi” Dako, age 57, passed away on March 29, 2026. She was born on September 12, 1968, in Cleveland, Ohio, to her loving parents, the late Zoltan Dako and Anna Maria Csomos.

Gabi was the beloved mother of Jasmine E. and Alex Z. Addy; dear sister of Erika K. Cox and Andrea Dako; and treasured aunt of Quinn and Cassidy Cox. She also leaves behind her three beloved cats, Grumpy “Brug,” Ellie, and Binx, who were truly part of her family.

Gabi found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved coloring, crafting, reading, and watching movies, and had a special fondness for collecting cows. She also had a passion for travel, especially throughout Europe, and cherished the seven years she spent living in Sweden.

Her Hungarian heritage was a meaningful part of her life. Her parents immigrated from Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, and she grew up speaking Hungarian. During her time in Sweden, where she moved to be with relatives, she also learned to speak Swedish.

Gabi fought a ten-year battle with cancer with remarkable strength and resilience, maintaining her optimism throughout.

She will be remembered for her creativity, her love of family, and the warmth she brought to those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
