Frellin Powers, age 66, passed away on April 10, 2024. He was born on November 20, 1957, in Chapmanville, West Virginia, to his late parents, Arlen and Theora (nee Conley) Powers.
Frellin was the cherished husband of the late Yvonnie Jo Powers and the devoted father of Robbie Baltimore, Tina Bischoff (Lance), and Jennifer Powers (Milto). He was also the treasured grandfather of Savannah, Isabella, Alisa, J.J., Gavyn, Alyvia (deceased), Hunter, Natalie, Nathan, and great-grandfather of Aubriella, Clair, Violet, Everlee, and Amethyst. Frellin was the dear brother of Denver (deceased) (Dottie), Juanita Tomblin (Leslie, deceased), Cora Hager (Fred, deceased), Dora Roberts (Ronnie, deceased), Leota Farley (Elwood) (both deceased), Della Powers (Robert Adams, deceased), Lucille Powers, Bertha Darby (Jack, deceased), Deloris Adams (Milton, deceased), Brenda Lamb (Roy), Rosemary Akers (T.J., deceased), Debra Dowdy (Tommy), Roxanna Tompkins (John), Arlen Powers, Jr. (Amy), and Lester (deceased) (Carol "Sue").
Following the loss of his beloved wife, Frellin found solace in the simple pleasures of life. He delighted in the camaraderie found during breakfast gatherings at Gabe's Restaurant, where conversations flowed as freely as the morning sunshine. A man of simple tastes, he always carried a pocketful of hard candy, sharing sweetness wherever he went. Frellin also found solace in the companionship of his beloved dog, Charlie, who was the light of his eye. They were inseparable, sharing quiet moments of comfort and companionship. Frellin cherished their bond deeply, finding warmth and joy in Charlie's loyal presence alongside him.
Frellin's love for the outdoors was palpable, especially when he cast his line into the tranquil waters, finding peace in the rhythm of the fishing rod. His green thumb found joy in nurturing tomato plants, cultivating life from seed to fruit with tender care. A skilled mechanic, Frellin possessed an innate understanding of automobiles, navigating their inner workings with finesse.
In the heart of his home, Frellin's culinary prowess shone brightly, infusing each dish with love and flavor. Yet, his greatest joy lay in the laughter and embrace of his grandchildren, their giggles echoing through the halls, a testament to the love that bound their family together.
