On Monday, August 7th, 2023, Frank Yankovich, loving father of two children, passed away at the age of 82 in his home on W. 91st in Cleveland, Ohio in peace. Frank passed away from stomach cancer after a valiant battle for over three years. Frank was born on April 26th, 1941, in Donji Miholjac, former Yugoslavia (now Croatia). Frank is preceded in death by his father, Frank Yankovich, mother, Tereza Balasz, and daughter in law, Florann. Survived by his sister Jela (Nedeljko) with kids Senka and Sandra and his stepsister Smilja and her son Slobodan (Dobrila), great niece Jelena (Predrag) with kids Milos, Vuk, Ana; great nephew Nemanja (Maja) with kids Lena, Masa and Natasa; stepsister Nada, his sons John and Joseph (Sheila), his grandson Joey (Livia) and his great grandchildren Adam and Emma.
Frank was a devoted father and an avid worker, retired from MTD. Frank was a problem solver and knew how to fix everything at his apartment building or his house. He was everybody's barber - giving haircuts to all his friends and family members. Frank was a friend to all his tenants for over 50 years. Frank enjoyed sports, supporting all of the Cleveland sport teams, however, the Indians/ Guardians were his favorite. Frank also loved soccer. Frank had a passion for bowling, darts, fishing and pool in his younger years. Frank was a perfect example of a wonderful man to everyone he knew. Frank would give anything to anybody anytime, he took care of everyone and always put himself last. Frank was an amazing man, and he touched many lives, and he will be missed dearly by all.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, August 13, 2023, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111, where services will be held Monday, August 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. Interment Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
