Emmanuel Abofu Akateh

Emmanuel Abofu Akateh, age 52, passed away on January 10, 2026. He was born on December 31, 1973, in Menji, Cameroon, to his loving parents, the late Martin and Juliana Akateh.

Emmanuel was the beloved husband of Margaret Akateh and a devoted father to Rita Akateh, Elsie (Dominic) Nkengafac, Lydia (Desmond) Asaha, Joel Akateh, and Faith Akateh. He was a cherished grandfather to Emmanuella Akateh, Jayden Asongafac, and Janelle Nkeng. Dear brother of Charles (Delphine) Alemaji, Florence (Isaac) Fortoh, Celine Akateh, Vivian Akateh, Romanus (Glory) Atemnkeng, and the late Eric Akateh and Jude Akateh.

Emmanuel enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, photography, and soccer. He will be remembered for his love of family, joyful spirit, and the lasting memories he leaves behind.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Slone & Co. Life Celebration Center 3556 W. 130th St. Cleveland, OH 44111. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., at St. Thomas More Parish 4170 N. Amber Dr. Brooklyn, OH 44144 (please meet at church). Interment Akateh Family Cemetery (Muyuka, Cameroon).
