September 7, 1927 — May 9, 2023

Seven Hills

Elsie Y. Kralik (nee Brdicka)  age 95

Beloved wife of the late Elmer Dolezal and the late Vladimir Kralik.  Loving mother of Brian Dolezal (Sarka), Gary Dolezal (Jadwiga) and Roger Dolezal.  Dearest grandmother of Brianna.  Sister of Jerry Brdicka (Gerry) and the late Charles Brdicka.  Step-mother of Andy Kralik. Elsie started gymming with the DTJ organization at the age of seven at Komensky Hall which was a block away from Sokol Tyrs Hall.

After graduating from John Hay high school in 1945 she married Elmer Dolezal whose parents had a cottage at DTJ Taborville. It is at that cottage where she and her family of three sons, Brian, Gary and Roger enjoyed the community and lake during the summer for 25 years and during which time Elsie counseled at their young gymer's summer camps.

After Elmer died in 1973, Elsie went back to school and became a court reporter, worked freelance, and then became an official court reporter for The Federal Court in Akron until she retired in 1992. In 1978 she met Vladimir Kralik and married him. He was a member of Sokol Greater Cleveland, consequently she joined SGC and started gymming with them immediately.

Vladimir and Elsie enjoyed traveling.  Attending many Sokol Slets gave them that opportunity. The first slet she participated in was in Pittsburgh, then Washington D.C., then Omaha, Indianapolis, Chicago, Toronto and Valparaiso. Europe also beckoned. In 1986 Bern, Switzerland, then Paris, France in 1990 and Prague in 1994 and 2006. They enjoyed skiing for many years but then they switched to golfing in Florida.

Since the 1990's she has been spending winters down in Naples, Florida where she was in a group of about eight Sokol gymmers from the Northeast District. This group got together weekly to practice their cal plus socialize so when they came up north they would fit right in.
