Elaine C. Dietrich, age 85, passed away March 30, 2024 after a brief illness of COPD. She was born on May 12, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John and Elmyra (nee Kaase) Dietrich. Loving sister to Marlene Vinarcik (Tim). Dearest aunt to Julie Hamski (Mark) and Lisa Vinarcik (Justin). Dearest great aunt to Kaila, Taylor and Taryn.
Elaine graduated from Rhodes High School, Cleveland in 1958. Worked at a mom and pop grocery store for 7 years, then got a job at Pick & Pay, which turned into Tops and then Finest. She liked the grocery business and spent 33 years with them.
She also loved her cars and trucks she had, especially with loud mufflers. She was an avid bowler for many years. She loved to travel and was all over the United States, Hawaii and the Bahamas. This was her passion. Most of the time she drove on vacations as she loved to drive. After retirement in 1998, she continued to travel. She got into the Senior Olympics at Estabrook in Cleveland. She won many metals. She loved to play any sport. She enjoyed working outdoors and had a beautiful garden and flower garden.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 5 to 7 pm at the SLONE & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 13115 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44111, where a service of remembrance will be held at 6:30 pm. Private family interment, Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, 4566 Pearl Rd., Cleveland, Ohio.
