Denise (Peggy) Moore

Denise (Peggy)Moore was born on October 29, 1953, in Berea, Ohio. She passed away on December 31, 2021. She was 68 years old. Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Peggy Rubel.  She was the loving mother to Michelle Anderson (Rodney Clark) and the late Stephan Truxall Jr. (Erica Stepic). She was grandmother to Ronnie Clark Street (Hilary Clark Street), Sage Stepic, and Caleb Clark. She loved spending time with her family and her “fur babies,” Moon and Flash. Denise loved finding antiques and handmade collectibles at estate sales, garage sales, and auctions. Denise was remembered as a homeless advocate of deep empathy and boundless compassion. Her love for people came from her love for God, whose presence followed her along the way. Denise spent two decades doing homeless street outreach in Cleveland. She made her life’s calling official in 2007 by founding Restored Paths Ministry, an outreach organization dedicated to providing hot meals and supplies to people sleeping on the streets and to anyone in need. Denise was the Outreach Coordinator for the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless, where she pioneered the Cleveland Street Outreach Collaborative and supported countless people off the streets and into housing. Denise knew every person sleeping outside by name and she mentored countless homeless advocates across Cleveland. She set a new standard for street outreach services and she will always be remembered for loving people urgently. A celebration of life with close family and friends will be held at Denison United Church of Christ on Saturday, February 5th.
