Delmar Cunningham Sr.

Delmar Cunningham Sr. passed away on August 11, 2023, at the age of 61. Born on January 25, 1962, to his late parents Harold Sr. and Arbutus Cunningham, Delmar's life was a testament to love, family, and passion.

A dedicated husband, Delmar was the loving partner of Richele Cunningham for 23 years. As a father, he held a special place in the hearts of his children: Delmar Cunningham Jr. and Joleen Cunningham (Sonny Kaaikaula). He was also the beloved father of Stacy W.  He found immense joy in being a grandfather to Noa Kaaikaula and Leia Kaaikaula, treasuring every moment spent with them.

As a brother to Patricia Hallman, Harold Cunningham Jr., Junietta Frederick, Dolly Bostic, and Raymond Cunningham, Delmar's presence brought light and laughter to their lives. He was preceded in death by his siblings James Cunningham, Rebecca Davis, Leonard Cunningham, and Jenny Comer, but his memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Delmar's passions were as diverse as his interests were deep. He found delight in collecting toys, comics, and cards, sparking a childlike wonder that remained with him throughout his life. His skillful hands extended to working on cars, a pursuit that brought him both satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment. A loyal and unwavering Browns (Football) fan, Delmar's enthusiasm for his team was infectious and heartwarming.

Beyond his other pursuits, Delmar held a special place in his heart for Batman, earning him the distinction of being the Caped Crusader's number one fan. His love for the Dark Knight was a testament to his affinity for heroism, justice, and the enduring power of imagination.

Beyond these hobbies, Delmar had an artistic soul, finding solace and joy in drawing. His creations were a testament to his creativity and imagination, and his talent brought smiles to those fortunate enough to see his work. As an avid animal lover, Delmar's compassion extended to all creatures great and small, embodying a kindness that left a lasting impact on his community.
