Danny Joseph Hancock, aged 66, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Born on March 22, 1959, in Youngstown, Ohio, Danny lived a life filled with joy, creativity, and the warmth of family.
Danny graduated from Niles High School, where he showcased his talent as a base drummer in the high school band, a passion that marked the beginning of his lifelong love for music. He furthered his education at The Ohio State University, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Over the years, Danny built a successful career, notably working for Sherwin-Williams and Jamestown Coatings. His professional journey was a testament to his dedication and commitment.
In addition to his professional achievements, Danny had diverse interests that enriched his life. He found happiness in electronic golf, music, cooking, gardening, and nurturing beautiful fish tanks. His playful spirit shone brightly during the cherished moments he spent with his grandchildren, Wyatt, Griffin, and Levi McDonald. Each memory created with them is a cherished part of his legacy. Furthermore, Danny enjoyed countless companionships with Kodiak, his loyal Alaskan Malamute, who brought him much joy.
Danny's loving family includes his devoted wife, Kathy Hancock; daughters, Christa and Emily Hancock; siblings, Frank Hancock, Sue Turco, and Holly Hancock; and a host of nieces and nephews - Michael, Jeffrey, and Thomas Hancock; Laura Crowley; Shannon Cooper; Nathan Reed; and Amber Fabian. His vibrant spirit will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Marcedes (nee Talbott) Hancock, who will now be reunited with their beloved son.
Danny Joseph Hancock's legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind, serving as a reminder of the love, laughter, and joy that he brought into the world.
Family and friends are welcome for a Celebration of Dan's life on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 1:00 until 4:00 PM at Federated Church, 76 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44022.
A dignified cremation has been entrusted to Slone & Company.
