Charles "Charlie" Linville, born on October 7, 1954, in Hamlin, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2025, at his residence in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a cherished figure, known for his vibrant personality and the rich tapestry of stories that comprised his fascinating life.
Charlie served honorably in the United States Army, a testament to his commitment and bravery, which became part of the legacy he left behind. He is remembered fondly for his love of fishing, throwing darts, shooting pool, and his passion for working on cars. These pastimes brought him joy and allowed him to connect with those around him, creating lasting memories through shared experiences. He also enjoyed relaxing while watching TV and savoring a cold beer, often sharing his anecdotes and insights with friends and family.
Charlie's family, although marked by loss, carries forth his spirit. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vivian Linville, and his siblings Barbara Hess (Steve), Williams Linville (Phyllis), Norma Criss (Ronald), and James Linville. He is survived by his children, Amanda Linville, Brandy Williams (Virgil), and Charles Jr., along with his living siblings, Harold David Linville (Anna), Kathy Zahurancik (Jeff).
Charlie leaves behind a legacy enriched by his grandchildren: JP Watkins (Amber), Sean Meadows, Makayla Linville (Josh), Cassandra Meadows (Lamar), Bradley Meadows (Paula), Braiden Meadows, Taigen Linville, and great granddaughter Zara Dawn West. He also mourns the loss of his grandson, Charles Joe Meadows, and his great grandchild, Elijah Linville Muniz; and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Charlie's life during a viewing that will take place on September 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Slone and Co. Funeral Directors, located at 13115 Lorain Ave, Cleveland, OH 44111.
Charlie Linville will be remembered not only for the love he shared but also for the laughter and stories that brought joy to those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to defray end of life expenses as there was no insurance.
