Charles Bates, age 85, passed away on November 21, 2021.
He was born on October 24, 1936 in Selma, Alabama.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Betty (nee Henry) Bates; his dear children, Lakisha Bates Gresham and Tina Bracey; cherished grandchildren, Maletrius and Ezaya Bracey; siblings, Bertha Grady and Amanda Todd; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
He enjoyed “people watching,” sports and cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
