Carlos Ray Lozada, Sr., a cherished son, father, grandfather, and companion, passed away on May 10, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Born on December 8, 1971, Carlos's life was a profound testament to love, family, and joy.
Known for a spirit always full of life, Carlos was a devoted family man who celebrated the triumphs and joys of his loved ones as his own-"Our wins were his wins". His passion for basketball, especially his fervent support of the Lakers, the 49ers, and the legendary Kobe Bryant, was matched only by his enthusiasm for video games such as Madden and Killer Instincts. In addition, Carlos enjoyed softball, and his love for music spanned an eclectic collection including Creed, TLC, and Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony. Those who knew him fondly recall his exuberant dance moves and how he delighted in sharing photographs from his vast collection, proudly showing off images of his children and grandchildren.
Carlos’s warmth extended deeply into his family life. He is survived by his devoted step-mother of 35 years, Shirley Lozada; his beloved companion of the past six years, Ashley Eggers; and his loving children: Carlos R. Lozada, Jr. and his wife Amber, Cierra S., Dion D., and Brandon M.D. Lozada, Ross L. Sumlin, Jr., and his expected daughter, Legacy Dream Eggers-Lozada, whom he eagerly anticipated meeting in October. His legacy is further carried by his adored grandchildren, Carmello, Jakobi, Teigen, and Sage Lozada. Carlos also leaves behind cherished siblings Ramon L. (Janet), Mario R., Ricardo E., David F. (Nicole), Veronica R., Dolores M. (Robert), Antonio R., and Victor A. (Christina) Lozada, Darcella Williams and Andrea Renee Wilson, along with numerous nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.
His passing reunites him with his parents, the late Ramond Lozada and Mary Jean Williams, bringing a measure of solace to those who mourn his absence. Carlos was surrounded by his family in his final moments, enveloped by the love and devotion that defined his life.
To honor Carlos’s memory and his favorite colors, visitors are kindly encouraged to wear red or purple to his visitation.
