Bill C. Vargo

Bill C. Vargo, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024. Born on April 2, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the cherished son of the late William and Rose (nee Strichko) Vargo.

Bill was the beloved father of William Vargo, Debra (nee Vargo) Sleva (Bryan), and Robert Vargo (Mindy). He was a devoted grandfather to Tiffany Quigley, Sara Hickok, Robert Short, Benjamin Hickok, Emma Vargo, and Calvin Hill, and a proud great-grandfather to Calvin and Jack Quigley.

He was a dear brother to Dorothy Campbell (Bill) (deceased), Evelyn Takacs (Bill (deceased)), and Sandra DiSanto (Mike). He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bill had a great passion for Cleveland sports, especially the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He also had a great love for rhythm and blues music. Bill worked for the City of Cleveland, Parks & Recreation Department until the late 1980's.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A Celebration of life will be held on July 27, 2024, at Robert Vargo's home in Brunswick, OH, please contact the Vargo family for details. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness and Cleveland Sight Center.
