Barbara Ann Peskura

Barbara Ann Peskura, a cherished member of her community and beloved matriarch of her family, passed away on February 19, 2026, in Brook Park, Ohio. Born on October 4, 1941, in Fairview Park, Ohio, Barbara dedicated her life to her family and was known for her warm spirit and loving nature.

Barbara was the daughter of the late George and Julia (nee Szaranksy) Hancsak. She was a devoted mother to William C., Jr. (Monica), and Scott (ex-wife, Cheryl Banner). Barbara took great pride in her role as a grandmother, fostering deep connections with her grandchildren: Nicole Bender (Justin), Erin Mizer (Adam), Kelly, and Emma. Her love and nurturing extended further to her great-grandchildren, Danielle and Caleb, who brought joy to her life.

As a sister, Barbara was close to Linda (Michael "Jim", deceased) Pavlik, and she was a beloved aunt to seven nieces and nephews, as well as a great-aunt to many, embodying the essence of family unity.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William C., her son, Mark W., and her brother and sister-in-law, George and Ellen Hancsak. These losses have left a profound impact on those who remain, and her memory will be eternally honored.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a graveside service at Sunset Cemetery, located at 6265 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, OH 44070, on February 27, 2026. The service will begin at 11:00 AM. Please meet inside the front gates for a procession to Pinewood Mausoleum, across from Section 39.
