Barbara M. Hollingsworth

Barbara M. Hollingsworth, our angel on earth, became our heavenly angel on September 18, 2023. She was 79 years old.

She was born on May 11, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, to her parents, the late Samuel L. and Barbara E. (nee Tlacil) Curtan. Although she was the third of nine children, Barbara was the oldest of the four girls born into the family.

Barbara met the love of her life, George Hollingsworth, Sr., in a brightly lit alley over sixty years ago and together they created the most beautiful love story ever shared. Stunning, even when sweeping the front porch waiting for George to drive passed, with a beautiful smile and such deep love and devotion for her husband, Barbara and George were married on June 20, 1964.

Their love story continued when that love created their two wonderful children, "Georgie-boy" and "Peanut." When asked about their mother, they couldn't help but share just how kind and loving she was. "Wow, what a sweet, kind lady," anyone would say who knew or met her.

Whether at their home in Ohio or Florida with the palm trees silhouetted against the sunsets, or being at the beach with the water lapping around

Barbara was her family's special angel on earth. Now, she is her family's special angel in heaven.

Barbara will forever be cherished by her husband, George Hollingsworth, Sr.; children, George and Michelle Hollingsworth, Jr. and Barbara and David Towne; her adored grandchildren, George and Kylie Hollingsworth, III, Peyton Ryba and Jack Ryba and her great-grandchildren, Faith and Colton Hollingsworth; and her siblings, Sam, James (an angel), Caroline (an angel), Thomas, Gary, Sandra, Janet and Edward.

Family and friends are welcomed THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST FROM 4-8 PM AT SLONE & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 13115 LORAIN AVENUE, CLEVELAND, OHIO 44111, where Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 22nd at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
