Barbara A. Ellsworth

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara A. Ellsworth, aged 84, on April 7, 2024. Barbara was born on March 21, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, to her loving parents, the late Andrew and Julia (nee Bell) Lakatos.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as a beloved mother to Mary Beth (Joe) Delsanter and Craig (Au'vaire) Sumpter-Donnelly. She was a cherished grandmother to Christopher, Allison (Adam), Shannon (Tory), Jasmine, and great grandmother to Hannah, Camille, and Addison.

Barbara was a wonderful stepmother and loved dearly by her stepchildren: Johnny Keith Haldeman, Michelle (deceased) Meder (Mark), Lisa Kozickie (Bob), Julie (Chris) Howell, Tammy (Edward) Zubek, Jim Stark (deceased), Teresa Lawler (Walter), Terri (Albert) Stark, and Joey Stark. She was a cherished grandmother to Craig (Jessica), Michelle (Jim), Shawn (Abbey), Joshua, Brianna, Wally, Isabella, Alby, Zack, Amanda, Aaron, and great grandmother to 4.

Throughout her life, Barbara endured the loss of her beloved husbands: William Donnelly (deceased), Harold Haldeman (deceased), and Donald Ellsworth (deceased). She found solace and companionship in her loving partner, James Stark.

Barbara was a devoted sister to Norman Lakatos (Linda), James Lakatos (Sue Winder), and Lois Weingarden (Tom). Her warmth extended beyond immediate family, touching the lives of many extended family members and friends.

Barbara will be remembered as a pillar of strength, who selflessly sacrificed for her family's well-being. Her unwavering love and support enriched the lives of those around her, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church 2486 W. 14th St. Cleveland, OH 44113, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Inurnment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
