Barbara Clark

October 23, 1952 — September 2, 2025

Cleveland, Ohio

Barbara Jean Clark, born on October 23, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, departed this life on September 2, 2025, surrounded by the warmth of her loved ones. A cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Barbara's presence in the lives of her family and friends was truly a gift and she dedicated her life to nurturing family and friends with her love.

As the beloved daughter of Irma and Willie Clark, Barbara grew up in an environment filled with love and support, which shaped her into the nurturing and resilient woman she became.

Education was an essential part of Barbara's journey, attending Audubon Middle School and later John Hay High School in Cleveland. The values she acquired during those formative years shaped her into the vibrant individual she became.

Barbara dedicated a significant portion of her working life to serving her community, having worked diligently for Morgan Linen and later at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. Her commitment to her roles reflected her deep-rooted belief in the importance of service and civic duty.

Known as the life of the party, Barbara found joy in many aspects of life. She had a passion for cooking and brought her culinary talents to life as a cook at St. Malachi's and St. Patrick's on Bridge Avenue. Cooking not only satisfied her love for food but also served to connect with others. In her leisure time, Barbara enjoyed traveling and indulged in the thrill of gambling, experiences that brought her excitement and cherished memories.

Her legacy lives on through her children: Marie Clark, William Sammy Tyner, Jr., and Dominique Diamond Laurece Philpotts, each of whom carries her spirit and values. Barbara was also a proud grandmother to Crystal Marie Roldan and Madden Burrell Parr. Her joy was further magnified with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Elena Maria, Estrella Marie, and Eliyanna Marie Straka, who brought her laughter and light in her later years. Barbara was a beloved sister to Annette Willis and shared a deep bond with her late siblings: Jacqueline Clark, Alfred Clark, Juanita Martin, and William Clark. These relationships enriched her life and contributed to the strong familial ties that were so important to her.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her generous spirit, and her ability to bring people together. Barbara's memory will forever remain a source of strength and inspiration to her family and all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to resonate for many years to come.
