Astrid Mercado

Astrid Mercado, age 81, passed away on August 10, 2026. She was born on March 31, 1945, in Guanica, Puerto Rico, to her loving parents, the late Juan Mercado and Modesta Villa.

Astrid was the beloved wife of Felix Diaz and a devoted mother to Joyce Vega, Astrid Vega, Idalia Vega, and Keisha Cintron. She was a cherished grandmother to Sarah, Raymond, Wilfredo, Xavier, Jorge, Gilberto, Jose, Keisha, Anthony, and Karen, and a loving great-grandmother to Solij, Abigail, Gabriella, Kiaraly, Sophia, Adrian, Abigail, Gilberto, Olivia, Eliana, Esmeralda, Valentina, Carina, Davian, Julian, Christian, and Isaac. She was also a dear sister and treasured aunt to Raymond and Daniel. Her godparents, Jesus and Keisha, held a special place in her heart.

Astrid enjoyed traveling, reading books, and caring for her family. One of her favorite pastimes was going to the casino. Her family loved taking turns making sure she could enjoy her casino trips, and even in her later years, they cherished every opportunity to take her and make those outings special. She also had a special love for her fur babies, Blondie, Cookie, and Taquito, and sunflowers always brought her joy. She was also a devoted admirer of singer Felipe Rodriguez.

Astrid will be lovingly remembered for her caring heart, love of family, and the many memories she created with those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.
