Arthur Valdez, age 63, passed away on December 13, 2025. He was born on May 10, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Arthur was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, neighbor, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Anyone who met Arthur will remember his light-hearted spirit, infectious laughter, and genuine warmth. He proudly served as a former auxiliary police officer for the City of Lakewood, Ohio. Arthur had a deep love for music, guitars, and taking memorable family road trips. He made it a point to show kindness to everyone he encountered and always rooted for the underdog.
Arthur was the beloved husband of Kimberly (née Sliva), and the proud father of his daughters, Ashley Morcus (Rich) and Danielle Valdez. He felt especially blessed to hold the title of grandfather to William Valdez, whom he loved as his own son.
He was a cherished brother to Mary Mata, Tony Martinez, Elizabeth Longoria, Henry Valdez, Diana Cruz, Margaret Valdez, and Jacqueline Hernandez, and a beloved nephew and uncle to many.
Arthur was preceded in death by his cherished mother, Elizabeth Hernandez, and his stepfather, Carlos Hernandez.
The family wishes to thank the many friends who shared their lives with Arthur, as friendships meant the world to him. They also remain deeply grateful for the compassionate care and support provided by his long-time primary care physician, Dr. David Brill, and his dedicated staff.
A Memorial Service celebrating Arthur’s life will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at New Life Church, 14224 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107.
